How long does it take to kick in?
It takes about 30 minutes to kick it. But this will depend how much you’ve eaten and how sensitive you are to caffeine.
What does it taste like?
We tried the green apple flavour, which was frighteningly green. It was quite sour, but I don’t mind a sour pre workout, so it went down nicely. If you don’t like your pre workout too flavourful, then you might not be too keen on the flavour. But, you’ve just got to get these things down in one!
What’s the serving size of Gold Standard pre workout?
11g is the serving size. You mix it with water and it combines pretty well.
How did you feel during the session?
I had the lip tingles when it started to take effect. It gave me really good focus through the work out and a good pump. I didn’t feel euphoria or tunnel vision, but the alertness and focus was great.
Who’s it for?
It’s an ideal stim pre workout for those who are new to pre workouts and not looking for anything too heavy. It’s half the caffeine than 5051 and about the same as an espresso coffee, but it has other ingredients to help with your session.
Overall Gold Standard pre workout review
Overall, I like this pre workout. It wasn’t too intense and tasted nice, although a little sour. It defiantly made me feel more alert and focused during the workout and there wasn’t a nasty crash afterwards. Great post session pump too. Love that it has creatine in it already, saves me having to remember to take it!
